SMEs in Granada Olimaker has developed the first integral precision micro-oil millwith its own technology and patent, which allows olive growers to integrate in one single machine the three processes traditional, short-run production of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO): grinding, beating and centrifuging.
The process is automatic and takes only a few minutes. 20 minutes and requires only 3 kg of olives. Until now, such processes had to be carried out in a traditional oil mill, or using three different machines. The device, named Olimaker Professional, is awaiting the approval of the CE marking for marketing in Europe.
The invention, which has institutional backing, was presented to the sector in the last Expoliva International Fair. At present, it already has firm orders from Spain and all over the world.
Its size, equivalent to a domestic photocopierIt can be transported in the boot of any vehicle. This allows olive growers to travel with it to the olive grove itself, test the organoleptic properties of the oil and experiment with different functions and times of beating, milling and centrifugation, until the optimum time for harvesting the olives is determined, pivoting and complementing the yield with its quality.
How the Olimaker works
The process Olimaker Professional follows is very simple. The olive grower must three kilograms into the machine of olives and select the time. Once the process is finished, the machine will provide you with a quantity of oil of around half a litre, which will allow you to test the quality and nuances of the oil.
It also allows oil to be obtained in real time to detect the characteristics or determine its price on the market. It is therefore an innovative product that costs around 11,000 euros, although it is being marketed at 8,000 euros. In addition, theare developing the Olimaker Home MC1 1.0, a micro-armazon for domestic use. which will be presented at the next EXPOLIVA International Fair in September in Spain.
In order to optimise and scale up the production of its micro-mills, the Granada-based company has signed a agreement with the national manufacturer Sima SAwhich is present in 57 countries, with which it has set up the Olimaker Factory joint venture. This will also enable it to offer maintenance and parts replacement services, both domestically and abroad.
Olimaker will launch a service dedicated to the year-round supply of olives for its microalmazaras in the form of an "Oli Bag".
Now, the company from Granada intends to go a step further in its activity, and for this purpose it has turned to Fellow Funders, which led the round of Olimaker funding of €550,000, extendable up to €687,500, in the event of an overfunding of 125 %, through its platform of Equity Crowfunding.
